The Real Me

Today, I'm the real me.

I have to make a confession.
I have not had a thought, any idea of significance
since October 2006.
That's because I have only been myself,
an intellectual bankrupt.
Without taking on another persona
I find myself devoid of a character.
Seems like I'll have to pretend again
to be someone else
to have anything of interest to say,
at least to myself.
It's tough to get started after the hiatus,
but I"ll think of something to say next entry.
